[...] Well, it turns out the water isn’t so great. You might have guessed that when I posted the sign that warns of sewage in the water during rain that maybe the water isn’t so great. Well, that would be a pretty good guess. [...]

Thankfully copyright laws are new-ish monsters. What would have happened to us if the first person to write declared that she was the only allowed to do it?

Where would music, painting, poetry, plays, and just about anything else that makes life worth living be?

I have noticed that Americans sometimes seem to be excessively quick to accuse others of being racist. I dont know what you call that, but "racist" sometimes seems to be used as a general purpose attack word, even if its only very remotely justifiable.
There is much worst then the US on the racism level. I dont think there is any other country in the world where people from different races are so well integrated together, and you have a black president now... I think you should take a break from the racism talk. Maybe concentrate on the public healthcare system instead.

maglite suck, lots of trouble for me too, but it surely makes big bucks for apple, at the price the replacements are selling, and making it impossible to find non-apple chargers.

Jon, you are a "racisit", not a racist. Perhaps that will make you feel better.

You should stare at this painting for a while.

I'm sure it will eventually turn you into as good an American as I presume Jeanne is.

I feel ya 100% on the copyrighting thing. As a sand animator, I was initially inspired by the guy, but then put off after reading his claim of inventing the art form and feeling the need to copyright it, and leave a ominous threatening caveat to would be copycats. Even if he DID create an art form, that's no reason to close off the medium to any further submissions. A confident artist should appreciate like-minded individuals, not avoid them or worse SUE THEM! And healthy competition is a necessary component of most creative circles. Attempts at lawyering away future generations of artists because of insecurity is really sad. It was real wimpy move and probably done out of fear of getting outshined. Outshined by let's say... A gorgeous female Ukrainian live sand animator(c)that captivated her country and many others during her performance on Ukraine's Got Talent? I didn't see any lawyers rushing the podium when she won... maybe Ferenc Cako shoulda hired Kanye instead? I'm just sayin....
